Shopping in Truckee

This store is an upscale version of the old-fashioned five-and-dime, packed to the gills with things that make kids go nuts with delight: windup toys, plastic zoo and farm animals, change purses, play sheriff’s badges and handcuffs, and so on. (You get the picture.) You can also stock up on postcards and Tahoe souvenirs. 10088 Donner Pass Road; (530) 587-3117
